This year Hannah's family is going to eat well. And digest well too - by following Sho's optimum digestion tips:
Eating light foods first and leaving heavier ones for later (this is sequential eating!) and by food combining, separating protein, starch and sugars, as these all need different conditions for digestion. Otherwise fermentation, putrefaction and other unpleasant non-digestive processes occur!
See below for Hannah's well combined feast, notice how she allows 2-3 hours for protein to digestion in the stomach, before introducing any sugars in her deserts. Clever!
Do you Digest your Christmas Dinner?
Mid way through our detox retreat we start talking about how to fuel these bodies of ours with real digestible food.
Food combining and sequential eating, as described above, are some easy health tips taught. These are easy to apply and so effective for long term health gain and weight loss!
Hannah wasted no time in coming up with her well-combined Christmas Dinner; by separating protein, starch and sugars, which all combine well with vegetables... she transforms Christmas into a digestible affair.
Green salad
Mixed green leaves with avocado, cucumber, olives and sundried tomatoes.
Roasted Vegetable Medley
Roasted potatoes, parsnips, peppers and courgettes.
Served with dips - salsa, humous, tahini (mediteranian style) and guacamole.
Protein Platter
Turkey & Ham with pigs in blankets, served with peas, carrots, sprouts & Spinach. Dressed with gravy.
And now... onto games for 2-3 hours to let the protien digest before desert!
