Health-wise, my eczema has totally lost its place and seems to be gone forever, which is divine. :) All my flat-mates had severe flu at least twice during November and December, but I seemed to be immune to it until I had a week of stressful days and very long nights. Even then it went away in 2 days instead of a week or two.
I feel like I've changed a lot in the past few months.I have a lot more confidence and mental clarity and I am happy with what I have in my life. I even hang around with people I respect more rather than other way around, I used to not think I deserved such nice things. I'm grateful for my transformation, I'm not scared of enjoying my life anymore!

The best thing I have done for myself ever!
I am feeling such a huge change, especially in my mental attitude and sense of being. It's hard to keep the smile off my face! Physically, I feel clean, refreshed and rested. The fasting and colonics were exactly what my body needed. I honestly think this has been the best thing I have done for myself ever!
The yoga and the 'Life Tracking' sessions were both fantastic, and Sho had such humour in her nutrition talks, her talks are not to be missed! It wasn't 'holier than thou' at all!
It was all the little things that made me chose Karuna detox - the fruit bags you get at the end of the fast, the preparation instructions before hand.
On leaving, I felt like a different woman. I came to sort out my body and rest, and I feel that a more real me has emerged!

Helped with preganancy and motherhood
I came on a detox retreat with you about three years ago. It was following a miscarriage and I found the retreat inspirational and life changing.
The detox obviously helped as I became pregnant eight weeks later. I now have a two and a half year old boy- Jake and a ten month old boy- Sam.
I left you as a stronger physical and emotional person and this really helped me to cope with pregnancy and the challenges of being a new Mum.
I am particularly interested in the raw foods as I started to introduce this before I became pregnant and felt wonderful.

IVF pregnancy after Detox Retreat
I came a year ago just before commencing IVF andwas pregnant two months later on my first IVF attempt. We welcomed our baby girl Sydney into this world on Aug. 3rd 2009. You may remember a Canadian Lady from Bristol, Lindsay, who was also embarking on IVF and who also fell pregnant soon after her detox and welcomed a baby boy into the world a couple of months ago. I've no doubt this detox holiday really helped.

Life Fantastic, Detox wakes spirit up
This January I came here to stop eating crap and lose a bit of weight but I got so much more than that! I had a completely spiritual and life awakening... shedding emotional toxins in addition to physical ones. I feel connected to nature and the universe in a way I never experienced before and actually really want to eat healthy and life giving foods!! Just got into the green smoothies and made raw chocolate - it's amazing!

No Cravings for sugar, bread, coffee or dairy
Just had my smug smoothie, so feeling er, smug. They really keep me going and since January retreat, I find I have no cravings for sugar or bread, coffee or dairy - any of the old addictions. Have been eating a big raw salad or nori wraps or the courgette linguini thing for lunch and a green juice with psyllium around 6. That's all I need at the moment and I have so much energy I'm swimming, running and flying around with the children.

No more headaches, hot flushes or Office Flu!
.. haven’t caught a single cold since (Sep. 09 detox retreat), even though my entire floor was down with the flu before Christmas.
I was the only one not to get it!! Ha!!
I used to have non-stop hot flushes, I put it down to stress and rushing, but I haven't had one since Karuna. I also find that I don't get headaches anymore.

Positive, focused energy & sleep
Just three weeks ago i was hardly sleeping, tired all the time, moody and irritable - now i have so much energy, positive, focused and sleeping very well.
In such a short amount of time I made so many changes, with my diet, and emotionally. I feel like a different person. I feel so light and calm as if I am at peace with myself.
I expected just to detox and received the wonderful gift of also changing my life!!!

Lost almost 2 stone, healed relationships, opened to love
On November '08 retreat and had the most transformational and rejuvenating experience there.
I was truly inspired by your message to let my body be my guide.
I have made raw food a big part of my life, and what an amazing change!
After losing at least 10lbs on the retreat, I lost another stone (at least!) in the two months following.
Over Christmas alone, spent with my family - who are not raw, to say the least, I managed to lose 10 lbs (when most people gain this much!).
To measure the changes just in terms of weight lost is a gross underestimation. During my week with you, I healed very old, and some new, emotional scars and traumas (thanks especially to Anna and my journey experience). My family relationships are a source of incredible happiness now, where they used to cause stress and anxiety. I released a huge amount of fear and blockage.. opened my mind to the joy and opportunities around me. ... I'm not surprised to say, I've met the man of my dreams, and am deeply in love with someone truly kind, loving, and inspiring.

Skin and energy levels - transformed
The retreat really was life-changing for me. My weight seems now to be stabilizing at a level [78 kg] that is a full 5 kg lighter than when I arrived.

Stopped drinking... Looking & feeling 10 years younger!
Since my June retreat in 2007 I have stopped drinking alcohol completely! The retreat has totally changed my life and I can honestly say I have never felt better. I have managed to stay at my post retreat weight, and feeling amazing every morning and full of energy is more appealing than waking up with a hangover!
Its really odd, I just don't want to drink any alcohol at all. If you had told me 6 months ago that by xmas I would no longer drink or smoke (gave up 2 weeks before retreat) and would drop to a size 10/12 I would never, ever have believed it.
My spare bedroom has become my yoga room and I paint and sew in there too when I can, something that didn't happen 'before detox'. There are so many more hours to the day.
Everyday people are saying to me, wow, you look amazing and, wow you have lost loads of weight - it fills me with confidence.
My new found healthy living has really made me look and feel 10 years younger. My eyes, skin, hair, everything looks great :)

Not in the grips of food cravings anymore
I eat a lot less, It gave me space to realise all the rubbish I put in my body. I can safely say that six weeks on, I am having daily bowel movements, something I have never experienced!
I no longer crave sweet stuff, and can look a chocolate caramel square in the face in and put it back in the cupboard - amazing!
I am more relaxed about food, not in the grips of food cravings any moreand really eat a lot slower than I used to... and I haven't put any weight that I lost back on.
I feel so much better within myself. So thanks for everything!

I felt I received individual care for my particular circumstances and I am now refocussing on living 100% to take care of this body and feeling I am able to do this easily. Blood Pressure Amazement
I went to the GP this evening and had my blood pressure checked and to my surprise it was 136/80 which is just amazing. I was so happy I didn't know what to do with my self . You see I have been taking water tablets for about 1 year and half and stopped taking them the very first day I started the retreat and haven't taken any more since. I am so happy about my blood pressure because this has been concerning me for so long.
I know now that I must remain stress free and try and keep my weight down. To be honest with you since returning to my normal every day life I have not stressed about anything so far and I just hope it stays this way.

I arrived with seriously aching joints. If I sat down for even a few minutes, getting up was very painful... The pains in the back of my legs have gone and knee joints are almost pain-free. Fasting was less difficult than I thought it would be. I thought that I would have a lot of time to kill, but actually, the time went fast.

I have just returned from my second Karuna retreat (my first was last January...) - and my teeth are sparkling white, my eyes are clear and bright, my skin is smooth and soft and glowing, my hair is thick and soft and shiny and almost GREYLESS (yes, most of my grey hairs have reverted to my natural colour!), my joints feel more open and flexible, my head (my brain...) feels lighter and brighter and clearer, my body feels lighter and MUCH stronger, and my energy levels have increased dramatically, I feel less tense and less tired... and all it took was one week away from home...

It has been a very special space and time for a deep contact with my body. Discovering and exploring how the body changes and gently shifts to a state of relief and peace.
During the retreats, the time is counted on a different meter. Everything flows soft and smooth and there's no hurry, no pressure. Absolutely a different pattern. I have also received loads of input regarding nutrition / yoga / meditation.
I think we are more perceptive while fasting - although it does feel like it when we are there...

The Colonics took a day or so getting used to, but once sussed were were really soothing (and dead easy). The talks on nutrition and diet were mind blowing. WHY ISN'T IT TAUGHT AT SCHOOLS?!! It will change the way you think about what you put in your body. The whole set-up is very relaxed and low key. Lots of space if you need it and you can skip anything you don't fancy. As a yoga and meditation beginner I found them both really interesting, especially the Yoga.

My experience was a real 'cleaning house'- I feel fresh and bright, complemented by the supportive group... Our fantastic hosts/teachers/guides, Sho & Dao, were so open, warm and grounded. Nothing was too much for them.
All in all a perfect week of relaxation and Detox, couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks!

The detox was really gentle. Sometimes I had a headache, then had a Colonic, and it would go away. It was really nice that it was fun and lighthearted, which made it easier to relax and be myself. Loved the Yoga!!

Health-wise, my eczema has totally lost its place and seems to be gone forever, which is divine. :) All my flat-mates had severe flu at least twice during November and December, but I seemed to be immune to it until I had a week of stressful days and very long nights. Even then it went away in 2 days instead of a week or two.
Your guidance and advice was top marks and put me back on the right track and made me aware of how I had neglected the old bones. I have now lost 18 llbs not half bad .
